World Energy Signs Michael Laznik As CFO
05.05.08
World Energy today announced that Michael Laznik has joined the company as its Chief Financial Officer. The move rounds out World Energy’s senior management team.
“World Energy has always prided itself in being a global biofuels leader,” said World Energy CEO and President Gene Gebolys. “Michael’s talent and experience are ideally suited to help us chart our course in the ever changing biofuels landscape.”
Laznik joins World Energy from FTI Consulting where, as Director of Corporate Finance, he focused on planning and business strategy, corporate restructuring, and finance. Prior to that, he was Vice President at Mesirow Financial, advising companies and stakeholders on business valuation, enhancing performance, improving profitability and cash flow, and raising capital.
Laznik also served as the Strategic Planning and Corporate Development Manager at KMOC, an oil E&P firm operating in Russia, and as a Senior Economic Analyst at the Economics Resource Group where he focused on regulatory and business strategy for petroleum industry, gas pipeline and electric utility clients. Mr. Laznik holds a BA in Economics from Yale University and a MBA from Brandeis University.
“With more than ten years in the biodiesel industry, World Energy is a formative player that stays on the cutting edge,” Laznik said. “This industry, and World Energy’s place in it, is going to look very different in the next few years. With the essential role that financing is going to play in this transition, I’m excited to be part of it.”
